Upholstered Ottomans: Favorites + Inspiration
This week I launched my new “Favorites” series here on the blog where I round up my favorite products twice a week. I launched with my favorite statement chandeliers and now I’m excited to share my picks for the most versatile piece your home - upholstered ottomans! These grown-up versions of bean bag chairs are one part coffee table, one part bench, one part flex seating and can be moved around to virtually every room of the house! Below, I’m breaking down creative uses for upholstered ottomans room by room. Don’t forget to shop my picks at the links above!
USES FOR UPHOLSTERED OTTOMANS
Coffee Table - You’ve likely seen upholstered ottomans trending all over your Instagram and Pinterest feeds, and I don’t see this trend dying down anytime soon. Style with a tray for added stability and top with a small plant, candle, and other decor. When extra company arrives, simply clear the tray and boom - instant additional seating!
End-of-Bed Bench - Ottomans also work beautifully at the end of the bed, providing a comfy place to put on shoes or relax and unwind. I particularly love using them in guest rooms or smaller master bedrooms, that may not have the room for a full seating area.
Breakfast Room Seating - I LOVE breaking up seating in dining areas and a breakfast nook is the perfect place to feature an ottoman. This style works really well in homes with small children, as their lower profile makes it easier for littles to climb up and down. Stick with a high-performance fabric for added durability that can be easily wiped down.
